After resetting my router, my mac keeps asking for wifi password

Hello, sorry if this has been asked before. A few months ago I had to reset my router/modem. Since then my wifes mac asks for the wifi password even though we click save password. Yesterday my mother-in-law had to reset her router/modem too and now on her macbook pro she's having the same issue, it keeps asking for the wifi password to connect and will keep asking every time it comes back from sleep even though its saved. Any idea what I can do? I am not too familiar with Mac OS
