I used to have an option in my "right-click" drop down menu that said "Open link in a new tab" and it just disappeared. I used this option really often, and was wondering if there was any way to get it back?

Using Safari? Try and clearing the cache and then restart Safari again.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
I still have it....
so, I would go to user/library/preferences and drag com.apple.safari.plist to the desktop and restart safari.
If this worked, you can trash the .plist

Can you press "Command" and click on a link to open it in a new tab?

Pleasure ...hopefully the update resolves the issue.
Post back with the results.

You might also try Onyx - head to 'Maintenance' - 'Rebuild' - check off 'Launch Services' and 'Execute'.

Link - make sure you download the correct one for your version of OS X.

Are you trying multiple links and multiple sites or only the same, single link or several only on one site?

And you are using Safari - not Chrome?

What version of OS X?

i have just been trying random links, some on here, some on facebook, some on hotmail. i don't think it's depending on the link, it's definitely something wrong with my right-click options.

i am using just safari, not chrome.

and OS X 10.5.8

And your contextual menu is only affected in Safari - not in Finder, the desktop, etc.?

Next, I'd go ahead and create a new user account to test and see if this is system wide or only your user account.
