which linux for G4 Powermac

hello all;

i have a G4 powermac with no os.

cant afford one right now, was thinking of using free linux to see if machine

even works, got it off craigslist.

ubuntu 8 needed drivers for cdrom and u9 kept freezing machine.

any ideas would be great.

Your Mac's Specs
 13" MacBook Air w/ 1.8GHz i7 & 4GB, iPhone 5S 32GB Gold
If no Ubuntu versions work, I would suggest trying OpenSUSE or FreeBSD/OpenBSD. Unfortunately drivers can be hard to find, but I'm sure they're out there, especially for a G4 PowerMac.
