Hi, on OSX 10.5.8 and Mail V 3.6

Just started having some "Mail has unexpectedly Quit" messages the day before yesterday.
I thought that my inbox was a bit "FAT" so have deleted almost 1000 mail items and have "Archived"
Tried a permissions repair ( I do this every few weeks anyway )

Now it is still the same, will launch and work fine, then after some minutes it
will "quit" or rather "crash" by it's self OR will give me the "Mail has unexpectedly Quit" message when I quit the program.

Any pearls of wisdom on this one, as it's my main "mail" program and relied on
quite heavily for work etc.

Thanks,
Marty.

Thanks Collin, I'm 10.5.8 since Jan 2010 so that was a combo update on a
new drive after a "black" 10.5 install DVD.

Does it make sense to run the combo update again ?
( have had a couple of software updates since then also )

IMO the Combo Update is the way to go instead of getting it through Software Update. I keep all Combos saved as like you needing to run it again.
To the ? try it and see what happens.

Instead of using Disk Utility to repair permissions try either MainMenu or Oynx.
These 2 apps go a heck of a lot deeper and do a better job at "cleaning" your system out.
I personally would give em a go and see what happens then. MM is trial and cost $20 if you want it, (i purchased it as i like it so much) and Oynx is free. Make sure you dl the right version for your system and in Oynx if you decide to go that way, is to watch what you check for the system clean, as if you check something that your not sure about you could crash your system.
This is my MM Batched Tasks
