The Ripple

As i am a newly converted mac user (i7 Would Never Swap Back) i have been browsing youtube videos learning how to use my little baby, one thing that keeps cropping up in these videos is a ripple/water effect when the mouse button is clicked, A little ripple appears around the cursor when you click the mouse. This looks very cool, Can someone tell me how i get this effect and is it difficult to achieve.

That effect could likely be just a feature of the screen casting software used to record the video, designed to draw your attention to the area being clicked.
