I have a Macbook Pro whose drive was recently wiped clean.
I boot up and get the message "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key".
I insert the boot disk hit several keys and nothing happens.

I have also tried rebooting the notebook with the boot disk and hold 'c'. Same result.

I suspect it might be the keyboard.
I cannot eject the disk by hitting the Eject key.
The only way I can get it to eject is to use a USB mouse and hold the left button when I boot up.

Looks like it is the keyboard and mousepad

Good news is plugging in an external keyboard and mouse works.
Next question is how much this will cost to get fixed....

I suspect it is the warping ribbon cable under the battery problem I have seen posted.

Got Leopard installed last night. Going to try the 'post-it note' solution tonight.
I have an appointment at the Genius Bar at my local Apple store tommorow.
Will see what they have to say.
Going to pick up a Snow Leopard upgdrade while I am there.

Thanks for the help!
