According to this link:
Jobs confirms simultaneous 3G, Wi-Fi iPads for May launches | MacNN

The WiFi and 3G ipads will both be released at the same time in May. For the world outsite the USA. That is nice news. Just thought someone would want to know this.

******************

Something else I just found.
If you live in Israel, forget about buying an ipad off the shelf there. You'll have to travel abroad to get one. Why? The Israel government banned the import of them. But with customs officials there confiscating ipad off you when you try to re-enter the country as the article claims, people from that country might have to learn to live without the ipad for a very long time indeed.

There's proberly a high demand in the us, so they know if they release them in the uk they wont be able to keep up with the demand, that's horrible for those who have had there hopes up.

iPad relese delayed until late May

The release date has now been moved back to late May for most, if not all international apple shops. i was looking forward to using one in the shop but now it will be out late may early june.

Does anyone know why they have been delayed, faulty line? Screen shot 2010-04-17 at 4.04.16 PM.png

This news was announced a few days ago. Per Apple, overwhelming domestic demand has forced them to delay the launch of the Ipad overseas.

This is the only thing that REALLY peeves me about Apple and other american companies. We are their LARGEST trade partner, are literally attached to them by land and they make us wait like we are super far, international and full of different protocol. Even though our population is too small to make a priority, we should be a priority, out of courtesy. Let's see what an american company would do if WE decided to delay them their precious resources :D

Canada is no different to Australia, the UK or any other country. Attached by land or not is no difference. You're a different country.

And by your definition you and Mexico should get the ipads at the same time as the US thanks to the land linkages to the US. Funny :). But I don't think so. In a way Australia is closer. As in closer to China where the ipads are made. But same rule applies. We all gotta wait.

Just a thought and not trying to trivialise the current problems, but I am guessing the volcanic ash problem might prevent the iPad being flown in to Europe anyway. :(

Highly unlikely I think. As I think the earliest the ipads will be flown around the world will be mid May. And all that volcanic ash should have subsided by then. Sure there'll be a backlog of cargo plane trips cause of the ash but I think that'll be sorted all out by mid may. For an end of may ipad release.

Both the Wi-Fi and the 3G versions will be shipping simultaneously to international markets, so I'm hoping that we'll still be getting our 3G iPads at the end of April as originally scheduled. I've already got my 3G preorder in hand, so I'm really hoping to have it by next week.

But I can't see the US 3G date being delayed though. If it was delayed I'm sure all the fanboys would sell all their Apple shares and cry foul and make Apple's share price drop. And we don't want that now do we :D

Patience is a virtue many US people need to learn.

You missed the point of my post. It has more to do with the trade partnership or lack thereof. Mexico and Australia aren't even on the same playing field in that regard, but whatever - I digress! :)

And the ipad might be delayed again for the international customers.
I'm not surprised. The more I hear about the iPad, the more certain I become that "late May" will probably become "early june." I'm starting to worry early june may be a bit optimistic.

That said, I'm glad its such a huge success. The more market penetration it gets the more companies that will cater to it.
