• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I just recently bought the Sony Handycam HDR-CX110. I'm not sure if this has already been posted or not, but I have a MacBook version 10.4.11, and cannot upload the video. My question to you guys is that if I need to upgrade my version of my computer as well as my iMovie in order for this to work. I know the format of the video is mts and is suppose to work with imovie 08, but tried it and could only get the SD video to upload and none of the HD video, which is what I want and why I bought the camera. Still not sure if the upgrade of the macbook and to iMovie 09 will make it work or not? My other option is buy a PC specifically for video editing, which I don't want to do at all! Thanks for any help and input!
