Lately whenever I click on some thing I get a spinning ball. That just started recently, what causes this, and what's the cure? Thanks for input Van

this is the loading icon, much like the hour glass on Windows, does it just keep spinning forever or what are you asking?

Your hard disk may be about to fail. Back up immediately.

Printerman,
I used to be able to click on something and it would go there immediately, now the spinning ball appears and zi have to wait till it's through spinning to get where I want to go.

To the person who suggested my hard drive is failing. Thanks for your advice even if it is very unlikely.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
You haven't given us much to go on here, so.....
Could be failing hard drive, not enough space on your hard drive, or just a combination of the above and/or corrupt permissions, cluttered desktop, full trash, not enough ram for intensive apps.

And keep an eye on how full that HDD is. Drives require about 15% free space to work anywhere near peak efficiency.

I'm sorry, I assumed you had some sort of clue as to how to maintain an OS X system. It's not unlikely. The problems that you listed often are symptomatic of a failing hard disk. They're also symptomatic of a complete lack of maintenance on a system in which you've been doing a lot of goofing around (i.e. permissions repairs).

Hope you got it cleared up.
