• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Just have been trying to figure out a few things but have had no luck, hoping one of you could tell me.

1) How do I increase the volume of a certain clip of a piece of footage without raising the whole thing.

2) How do I make a dot on a video, like circle an object on the video etc

I'll assume you are using iMovie 08 or 09...

I'm not sure there is a way to do number 1 without using a trick. That trick would be to split the clip once or twice to isolate the area of problem. Then apply volume changes to that.

There is a 'Normalize' audio function you could try, but I'm not sure if that will do what you want.

Number 2 also doesn't have a simple solution either. If you are using iM09, and maybe 08, you might be able to cheat by overlaying an image with transparency.
