Hi,
while trying to make room on my mac i accidentally managed to delete my itunes library. I didn't notice I had done this until i emptied my trash and then tried to listen to some music the next day and nothing was there! When I connected my ipod it said it was registered to another library, and then didn't let me see what was on my ipod through itunes. I'm pretty desperate to get my music back, is there any way i can copy from my ipod to itunes.
PLEASE HELP!

Hello and welcome to MacForums ,

Sorry to hear of your loss , here are a couple of links that should help you on your quest.

Senuti

Pod to Mac - Free iPod, iPhone Music Transfer Software

Both of these apps will do what you want , but they wont stop you from making this mistake again so I suggest you start a good back-up program RIGHT NOW ! Search this forum and you will see the light and how to get to it. Here are some links to get you started:

Thank you for that.
I do have Time Machine back ups which I had completely forgotten about, probably due to having new music since my last back-up. If I did get my music from my backups how would I do this, and also what would happen about the ipod supposedly being registered to a different library or would this all fix in one go?

After restoring your itunes library file from you TM your problem will be fixed . As for the music that is not in your TM you may have to use a third party app to get it off of your iPod unless it was purchased from iTunes on the iPod then you should be prompted to transfer purchases. Here is a link to how to restore from a TM back-up.

Thank you so much. Can't do this until I'm back at uni at the weekend so I'll give it a go then. Lets hope it works.
