• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I mean, I am just editing for school projects, no money to be made on this things, not going to show them on any reel. Is there anyway to get around using iTunes music in Final Cut Pro? Or are there other services where I can buy music that doesn't have DRM licensing on it? HELP!:Shouting:

I thought all iTunes music for the last 2 or so years has been DRM free.

Yeah, I'm just still not sure all of it is. I still have a couple of albums that have never been upgraded.

All of the free tracks they give out every Tuesday are protected.

What people do with music in iTunes still containing DRM is they set up a playlist and burn a CD. That removes the DRM. You can then import the music FCP or whatever in the usual manner.

Yeah most people give you DRM free now, I guess the only thing new I have heard of is ScatterTunes their music is like 320 kbps if you are looking for higher quaility

you should try updating your old music i guess
