Hi all,

I managed to accidentally get an Excel file icon stuck on my finder window right next to the cog wheel button.
So any time I use a finder window the thing is stuck there staring at me.
The annoying thing is I've tried everything I can think of but can't shift the bugger. It won't allow me to drag and drop it as it won't drag, it just opens the file in Excel.
Any advice warmly welcome.
I'll try and include a screen shot to illustrate my woe.

Right click on an empty area of the toolbar and choose Customize Toolbar. You should then be able to drag the icon off the toolbar and see it disappear in a puff of smoke.

Or try Command-drag.
Should "poof" it.

Thanks chaps, both methods worked and I'm extremely grateful to you.

I also discovered a whole world of labour saving buttons on the customise toolbar option which I was completely ignorant of.

Bonus!
