I'm attempting to burn songs from a playlist onto a CD-R. Everything goes OK until I get a message saying Burning Disk - Finishing. This message has appeared for 12 hours and nothing else happens. If I try to eject the disk, I get a message that it is still burning and I will ruin. What am I doing wrong and why won't this process finish? Please help!!!!!!

I finally couldn't wait anymore so I ejected the CD. Most of the songs are playing OK, but the ones at the end aren't. The last 2 songs didn't even burn. What am I doing wrong? Could it be the CD? I'm using TDK CD-R. Could it be the brand? Is 12 hours not long enough for it to completely burn?

One more question. Are there any free CD burning software. I ruined 2 CDs dealing with this problem. The 2nd CD I waited an hour and the disc was ruined. The first one at least I got a few songs, but it took 12 hours. I read something about free software called "Burn". Would this work?

If iTunes isn't working, "Burn" probably won't either.

You HAVE to approach this problem methodically or you'll never get anywhere.

The first thing to figure out is whether its the disc or the disc drive, so my first suggestion would be to try a non-TDK disk. Burning an audio CD from iTunes should only take a few minutes.

Come to think of it, you didn't actually say what program you were using. Is it iTunes? If not, it should be.

Yes, I am using ITunes. I have some Maxell discs I'll try. I hope this works.

It worked!!! I burned 3 Maxell CDs in 20 minutes. I guess the TDK CDs weren't compatible. Tomorrow I'll see if they play OK in the car.

Thanks!!!!!
