Hello all,

I have tried to install the new mac update both from 'Software Update" and downloading it from the apple website. After running the installer from the apple website it came up and said "The installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacture for assistance."

I don't know why it is not installing or what is causing it to fail. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Martin

I don't know either.
Did you try closing all apps and then running "Verify Disk Permissions" in Disk Utility? If it reports any errors, repair them and maybe even run "Verify Disk" after that just to be sure everything is Kosher.
Then restart. Go here and try to install the combo update.
