Quad Core vs Dual Core for Editing

Hey everyone i am interested in buying an imac. I will be editing using Final Cut Express and Adobe After Effects and i was wondering if a quad core would be better than a dual core for editing video. Thanks

Video games lol.

For apps optimised for all the cores the i cpus have - yes.
For apps not optimised for the i cpus - not really. They'll be just as good as the faster C2D's.
