Copying files

Quick question. I've just bought a G4 which I should be getting anyday. I have an old imac I've had for years. Can I just connect the 2 by firewire to copy my files?

yes, but its a little more involved than just connecting them, though you could just as easily use an ethernet cable as a crossover or small network and do it that way, using the firewire cable means you need to use firewire disk mode or target disk mode.
