1080p vs 720 for phot editing...

So im looking for a monitor for my mac book pro with has 1440x 900. Im looking at the new samsung led tv/monitors , a 22 and 26 which are 720- 1366x768 are tvs . The 23" seems to be a monitor and 1080p 1920x1080. Does the 1080p matter for photo editing, ie photoshop etc... No computer gaming.. Thanks

If you want a display to be used as a monitor for your computer, buy a monitor. Do not buy a TV.

A TV should not be in your considerations for a computer display unless you require the display do double duty as a TV. If this is a part of your requirements for getting another display, then it doesn't really matter how good or how poor it is when comparing a TV to a monitor.

I dont need a tv, i have a 50" plasma already, I just wanted a led screen like the new apples, with out paying the apple price. So i was just thinking about the tv as an option. The led part is what is drawing me in. I want the quality.

LED has zero to do with quality where hooking it up to a computer for photo editing is concerned. It's not made for that, and you'll be doing yourself a great injustice. Let's start here: What is your budget ?

Im looking any where between 200-400, I was originally looking at a 21-24" hp monitor with a shiny screen. The picture quality look pretty good to me. I just found this today on tiger direct... samsung 25" monitor
