Boot Globe Appears

Macbook Unibody 2.26 Dual, 2GB RAM, 250 GB HDD
When I boot up now, instead of the sound and the password prompt, this globe appears for a long time before all that. What gives?

It's been ages since I saw that but if I remember correctly it's trying to boot from a network! What should work is once in OSX open System Preferences, Startup Disk then click on the OSX drive and click restart. See if that Globe goes away on the reboot.
