Hey every1

I have a small question 4 u

a few weeks ago I graduated from an institute, and went back to my country, The institute gave me a MacBook pro, but without the admin privilege, and they told me that I can keep it when I graduate, but after graduation I forgot to ask the technician to give me the admin password, and now I can't do a lot of things with it. I tried to email the technician but I can't log in to my email since I'm not a student anymore.

Is there any possible way to gain the admin password?

I would really appreciate you help!

Contact the institute and explain the situation, telling them that you are a graduated student with a notebook provided by them and ask the password ( or the technician's E-mail )

Weird situation I must say ..... ( no disrespect no anyone )

well, I've heard that a CD that comes with the laptop allows you to gain the password, so is it right?

Provided it is not Firmware Password Protected, buy Snow Leopard full retail install DVD, format the drive, partition using GUID under Options, and do a clean install.

Make sure you have scrolled down the screen to "resetting the original administrator account password" and open that link and not using the first directions for resetting a user's password.

That's what I did, but it's still asking me for the Admin password!

Suggestion:
1) Backup the important stuff to an external had disk
2) Do a clean install from the DVD's
3) Restore your backup

Done.
