Long story, but I'm trying to restore my Mac Mini to it's original condition. I have the original 10.4.10 disc that came with the computer. In the time I have had it, it has had 10.5 installed and then 10.6. I've always been able to restore it from 10.5 back to 10.4. Now, it hangs at the "preparing disc" screen. Did 10.6 change the firmware? At the moment, I'm doing an erase/install of 10.5, and it seems to be working (hasn't hung yet). I'd really like to be able to use the original Mac Mini discs to recover from my experiments.

If the 10.4.10 disk is the original disk that came with your Mac-mini...then there really shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't work...unless it has gotten damaged in some way.

Going from 10.6 to 10.5 and finally to 10.4 worked.

Well that's the long way to do it...but success is success!:)
