I found an old SimAnt cd rom in a thrift store in perfect condition ... now I have a new iMac and I get that it's not supported or so it says. Though is there some way through terminal to play this or was it just a 2 dollar pipe dream to play this little gem again? Not a biggie either way, just wanted to ask :)

I'm assuming that the SimAnt CD you have was originally written to be used on a Macintosh computer running OS9. So you either need a computer running OS9...or a newer Macintosh computer running "Classic".

Or emulate OS 9 using one of the many builds of sheepshaver.
Assuming you actually own the original OS you are emulating.

Hope you find something that works for you. Now that I've read this, I think I'm going to have to dig out my SNES and play some SimAnt. LOL
