My apartment clubhouse has unprotected wifi that my iMac can see, but wont really connect. It will connect but wont display a webpage, it will say it has no IP. If I go to advanced, and click "renew DHCP lease" i can get a IP address. but still no go. It might load half a page than nothing, and SLOOWWWWLLY at that. My neighbors, who have a PC, connect and browse just fine. ***!!!!!!!!!!

Im really lost, ive been searching every possible thing for months.

Why can a PC browse but not my Mac

Im on 10.6

Welcome to the Forum. Try doing 2 things to see if it helps; Firstly set up a Location - see this - in your Laptop just for the Clubhouse and find the DNS numbers for the ISP that provides the service and include those if they are not showing up automatically.

How about going for another channel in case there is local interference.

Why can a PC browse but not my Mac
because Apple tries for a better quality of connection?? Just guessing!!
