I upgraded from 10.4 to 10.5.8. Now my computer will not stay asleep. It doesn't matter if I force it or let the designated time lapse. It will go to sleep, and then wake right back up. I am very familiar with Macs and have adjusted the Energy Saver and Display settings and nothing seems to change. My Bluetooth settings are set correctly...Any ideas?

Your Mac's Specs
21" iMac 2.9Ghz 16GB RAM - 10.11.3, iPhone6s & iPad Air 2 - iOS 9.2.1, ATV 4Th Gen tvOS, ATV3
Do you have any peripherals plugged in ??
If so unplug them and see if it still doesnt sleep ....

Cheers
EDIT : when you did the system update to 10.5.8 did you dl via the system updater ??

If not i would strongly suggest you dl the combo update from HERE. The combos fix up little glitches and this sleep problem might be one of them :)

That seemed to do it...but that would be a pain. Do you know of a work around?

I updated through the Software Update as prompted

Not really apart from disconnecting them....
Did you get the 10.5.8 through the Software update ??
If so i still strongly suggest you get the combo update from apple directly and that might fix your problem ... That would be the only work around i can think of...

Umm re think, try repairing permissions, log out then back in .. Might help.
But i would be sure about the combo update if you havent got it :)

Cheers
