Using an NSArrayController as an attribute.

I have a really annoying problem with this application I'm developing. It's a sort of recipe book, with a few attributes and a table view full of ingredients. This is the real problem: I would like to set up an NSArrayController for my ingredients as an attribute of my RecipeBookEntry entity. However, every way I have attempted to do this has resulted in the table view either being empty, or not changing when switching between recipes. Any help?
