Hi,

My mac (Powerbook G4, OS X 10.4.11) has recently started opening a small black pop-up window every time a mail arrives or a file is downloaded, etc. How can I stop it doing this?

What does the popup show, and what applications are you using for mail and downloads?

The window tells me when a mail arrives (thunderbird) or downloads are completed or when new versions of some programs are available for download. This is a small black window in the top right of the screen.

Arrghh, it just appeared again!
