Howdy... Some slight issues I was hoping I could get some help on.

Firstly, my right and left arrow buttons stopped working the other day. I haven't added any new apps to incur this problem.

Secondly, in my half assed efforts to address the above problem, I opened system preferences/keyboard and mouse/keyoard shortcuts, and hit restore defaults. Since then, the functions keys f1 &f2 for brightness, and f3/f4/f5 volume buttons have ceased working. f6/f7/f8 are also non responsive, but f10-f12 are working as normal.

If anyone can offer any help on this, I'd be greatly aappreciative.

Cheers.

With the default setting, you'll need to hold down the "fn" key with the f1-f8 keys for them to work.

Don't know why your arrow keys would not be functioning unless you're spilt something on it.

Thanks for that. Any idea on how I can take it back so I don't need to use the fn key?

No spills that I can recall, but it isn't the cleanest keyboard, admittedly.

System Preferences - Keyboard - Keyboard tab - uncheck 'Use all F1, F2, etc. keys..."

Thanks so much guys. Very helpful.

And you're right. I have spent a lot of time eating over it. A can of compressed air is on the menu this weekend.

Incidentally... security words are goverment's & eventful. I'm in Australia, and we've got two state elections tomorrow. Oh the irony.....
