Built in audio line out failure on a G5 (late 2005)... has this happened to you?

2 Ghz Dual Core powermac, 11GB RAM, 2TB Hard Disk, M-Audio
I left my system rendering an HD footage I shot of my son's high school rock band performing at a BOTB. well... when I woke up in the morning my audio output was reduced to a faint level.. even with the amplifier cranked up.. Has this ever happened to any of you ?
