AirPort Extreme range problem

I've just purchased my first mac, a G4 ibook. It is about a year old and I'm very pleased with it so far, except I'm having no joy with the wireless range. Everything works fine when the ibook is right next to the router but move more than 3 foot from it and the link is lost.

I've reseated the card and aerial with no change. The router is a 2Wire 1250 and I have no trouble with the two windows centrino laptops that use the router too.

Is this liable to be an AirPort card fault or something to do with the aerial?

Thanks

i had the same problem. just make sure the wire is well connected to your airport card. Yours might be a bit loose. Give a check to it.

I have checked that and it seemed to be connected as good as possible, although it doesnt seem totally secure. How secure is that connector held by the card.

Sorted.

A deep breath and a little extra force and the aerial connector went in a bit further.

Thanks
