How ... can I DELETE a single item from a Bookmark Bar ...?

Right click or control-click on the item and select Delete from the contextual menu.

Um, I just pull the item off the bookmark bar and it goes "poof" -- like the dock, etc.

I don't remember exactly when that was introduced, or which version of Safari.i don't think it is unique to Snow Leopard though.

Except you have to ctrl drag from the bookmark bar - same goes for removing or moving stuff around on the menu bar also

Not here. To delete I just normal click and hold and drag it off the bar and poof. To Rearrange same thing click, hold and move where I want it. Unless 10.6 is different than 10.5 in that way.

No Coffee? That totally explains it! When I first get up I click on all sorts of wrong things. Zap icons, mess up my desktop! :D

For a minute I was starting to think I was crazy! Thanks for letting me know! :D

I have not even gone to sleep and just found the time goes ahead 1 hour today! So I have been setting clocks. I would drink some coffee but have a Windows service call later in the day for a close friend so, Now it's time for bed. :D

Sorry...but that does not work here on a "Single Item Inside A Folder".....it does work for removing an entire folder. Still have to use the "Edit Contents" to remove single items from Bookmark Bar folders/drop-downs on Safari 4.0.3.

The word Folder was not used. No, just dragging it off the Bookmarks bar does not work inside a folder.

What I was saying is neither I nor Chas said you could drag bookmarks in a folder on the Bookmark bar and have them go away. I was not talking about your post.

I am just glad we were able to help you. If you have any other questions just ask away! :D

Chas's method just works for single bookmarks in the Bookmark Bar or the whole folder as you have found. If it's a folder in the Bar even right click does nothing here except to open the bookmark. That is where the other method mentioned works great.

Yeah, I missed that aspect in your original post also. But, this certainly wasn't a waste of my time. I've already learned one thing, and maybe about to learn another... So, did any of the methods given for removing an item from the BB actually word for an item inside a BB folder?
