Freshly installed MBP with leopard now it takes 6 minutes to load / boot up!

I've owned my Macbook Pro since new and it came factory installed with OSX 10.4

(SPEC: original Macbook Pro 15" 2.16ghz duo, standard 1gb ram, 120gb HD nothing else plugged into it or modified)



I decided to update to Leopard and used the 10.5.6 disc formatted the hard drive fresh and after installing boot time was around 6 minutes. I tried everything, updating OS, reseting pram all sorts but still slow boot up.



Then i thought maybe updating to Snow Leopard may resolve this issue but unfortunately still the same problem 6 minutes to boot!



I don't know a lot about the console but i rebooted at 20.12 pm and here is the report:



I noticed at 20.13 some weird happenings with the internal apple modem i hope somebody can shed some light on it.



Also between 20.14 and 20.18 'Timeout waiting for IOKit to be quiet ' 4 minute pause??? whats that because of?

You will need to provide the model and specs of your MBP in order to get detailed help.
Looks like an incompatibility somewhere.

What kind of Leopard disk did you use? You need to use a black set (retail) of Leopard in order to install. Same for Snow Leopard.

Installing to a HDD that has just been formatted should result in a fairly fast boot time - even with the 1 GB of memory that you have. It's possible your hard drive is failing which may be the case since your machine is one of the first MBP sold.

Post back and we can go from there.

Hi it was the retail version of leopard and snow leopard i used.

It seems too much of a coincidence i had no problems up until the format and install to be hardware related, Ive had very little use out of this MPB.

Can anyone on here understand the code and tell me why it had the 4 minute pause?
