Safari Acting Strangely

Hi

I am having a bit of an issue with Safari at the moment and wondered if anybody could help me out.

When I open a new tab and type an address in Safari attempts to load it but fails and instead opens it in my first tab!

Can anyone help?

hmm, that is strange,
have you tried downloading a new version of safari from the apple website?

...as in Safari 4.0.5 which just came out yesterday (March 11)
