You will have "Create xyz version" there. What xyz happens to be is determined by what you have setup in iTunes Preferences for importing a CD.

Open it up to the General tab, use the Import Settings button and set it to mp3.

And am moving this out of the 7 yr old thread where you started it.

You have to select a NON mp3 file in your iTunes Library in order for "convert to MP3" to be active, as you might expect.

Right... the movie is in the library under movies, I select it, then click on Advanced, and the Mp3 option is greyed out.

MP3 is a compressed AUDIO format. You can not make a movie MP3. MOV, AVI, MP4 and others but not MP3.

I know... I'm sorry. When my post was 'moved' the context of the post was lost.

Yes, I need to convert a movie file to audio mp3 please.

You want to Rip the Audio from the video. Quicktime Pro will do that. Do it here from time to time.

There are applications called demux that split the audio and video.

Yes, but I don't have Pro version of Quick Time. Was told here that I Tunes can do... but having trouble with that. See many free downloads I can use but wanted a referral of one before I just grab anything of internet... thanks!
