As the title says (with high/full visual settings) maybe add more ram (+ 2/4 gig = 4/6 gig of total ram)

The 8800GS is a descrete card, not integrated. It's not that powerful really, about the same as the 9600GT.

Anyway, both cards can play the game, but not at the highest settings at any resolution around 1440*900 and higher. The game is quite gfx intensive and not well optimised.

I don't mind playing on medium specs, just as long as I don't have to play in a 4:3 resolution.

Can someone please tell me if GTA IV can play on those macbook specs. I kninda need to know really soon. Oh, does GTA IV PC support headsets? One more thing, in NFSC for mac. If I set one of the D-PAD buttons, it thinks its an axis, so if you move the left analogue stick in that direction, it will do the configuration I set to it, does this happen in GTA IV (with the Logitech Dual Action Gamepad)

Which is more powerful?

Intel Xeon 2.26 GHZ quad core or 2.8 GHZ quad core i7

NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB or EVGA GTX 285 1GHZ or ATI radeon hd 4850?

These questions are for gaming (and I'd like to run GTA IV PC [boot camp] on full visual settings)

Mate i hate to rain on your parade and hope you get the answers you are looking for, but over the last week or so havnt you had 2 or 3 similar threads on the same topic ??? What did they have to say in those. You dont want people repeating themselves and getting a little on the "who gives a ....." side.
If im wrong please let me know, but im sure you have asked these before ...

Cheers

I've been in the construction industry off and on for 50 years come June. I've definitely been called worse. ;D

Think it's only the 4th or 5th time I've used it in the last 3+ years.

To really answer the question the person would have to have tried GTA4 on that machine.

I am playing GTA4 on my gaming PC. It's a VERY demanding game. 2 engines and it sucks CPU, but also wants a lot of Video RAM. My 256 Meg card runs out of VRAM and textures start to disappear. I check and all the VRAM is used. There are people yelling on all the GTA4 forums about that it's a very poor port of the PS3 version. From all I have seen the last month or so I agree. VERY hungry game.

From everything I have seen here on my system, I would recommend 512Megs VRAM. A Core 2 Dual CPU seems to work well though but don't expect to max it out.

I have seen people with an i7 with quad cores and 8GB RAM, 2 top 512Meg Video Cards in SLI and with everything maxxed it was still not really smooth.

You'll need to merge some more threads, bob ... this guy starts a new thread every time he has a new THOUGHT about GTA apparently!!

If anyone needs me, I'll be in the library refreshing myself on the AMA's definition of "obsessed."
