How to resize primary partition?

I have a 160 gig hard drive on my mcbook pro. I partitioned it into 3 - 40 for the primary and 2 more drives of 60 and 100 (windows legacy ). Now i am running out of space on the primary and want to resize it but disk utility will only let me resize the other two but not the primary. Any ideas?

I'm not sure that you'll be able to without resizing the other partitions, which will mean deleting the contents.
You'll need to boot of your OS X install disc holding down C when you hear the chime. After selecting the language, go to menu bar>utilites>disk utility to resize the OS X partition.
Before attempting this, make sure you backup onto an external HD.

6string is correct. You'll need to resize the other two partitions in order to provide enough "free space" to increase the size of your primary.

However, I highly recommend instead of resizing, that you purchase a larger hard drive, adjust the partitions accordingly, and then clone the contents over. Use something like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper for the cloning.

You can use WinClone to clone the Windows partitions.
