Full Screen

I have FireFox and my sister-in-law got on my Mac and somehow lost the toolbar and also put the mode into full screen. How do I get out of full screen? My user's manual is too brief to give me any info. Thanks

Not sure how Firefox could stay in full screen unless a video was playing. Is the menu bar at the very top of your screen visible? If so, go to View and from Toolbars, choose which toolbars you want showing. If even your menu bar isn't showing, then I don't know what the issue might be.

No menu bar or tool bar at the top. Complete full screen. Driving me nuts. Can't even navigate. Help, help. Thanks

Don't know how either, but the 'esc' key should get you out of it.

Esc doesn't do anything either. I have gone thru all F keys, then control F keys, then Command F keys, then option F Keys, then esc with control, option and command. Nothing in that vein has worked. Anything else I can try?

Yep. If esc doesn't work, then who knows =-O. Clearly you have a web browser. How did you get to your user manual if you're in fullscreen? Hit esc... try command tabbing out to a different app... google?

Also the key to get to fullscreen is command shift f... try hitting that.

By the way... first search result gave me this. When I typed in. "firefox mac fullscreen."

Try it out sometime, it's all the rage. The kids can't get enough of this google.

I have both FireFox and Safari. I can go to Safari and navigate around and go where ever without problems. But FireFox is locked in full screen, no menu, no tool bars, I guess they are hidden at the top of the screen and I can see them. I tried to pull the screen down but that don't work either. I am going to go to FireFox web site and see if there is help there.

Do you mean Firefox is taking up the entire screen or only that the menu bar is above the top of the screen and unreachable.

If the 2nd, it means she was playing around with the resolution of your display. If this is the case, you will have to experiment with a couple of different resolutions until you find one where you can grab the menu bar.

Also, next time you get stuck, try using expose? I forget the function key for it... F9.

The command shift F brought me back to normal. Thanks. Now I have still got the problem of the navigation toolbar. Although checked I don't have the back key, etc. I will work on that with the FireFox help menu that I can now see. Thanks to all. You guys are always there and ready to help. I have just converted to Mac a couple of months ago and it has "been an experience" to say the least. Over 20 years on a PC makes you kind of dumb when you get a Mac. Thanks again.

I am back to normal, well my Mac FireFox screen is back to normal, I am still as goofy as ever.
