So I have a MacBook with 10.6.2, and I noticed today that the 4 finger and 3 finger swipes on the trackpad do not do what they are supposed to (expose` and swipe to navigate, respectively). I made sure these options were enabled in the system pref. and still no resolution. Any ideas on how to proceed?

Closer than you think.

I had the same issue.

Not sure if was related to Fusion 2.0.6 or not. Seems it would happen if I had used Fusion. A reboot seemed to fix it until I ran Fusion again. I haven't had the issue since going to Fusion 3.x. The whole time I was using OS X 10.6.2.

I dont recall installing any version of Fusion. Also, sorry to sound dumb, but does
reboot = restart; or does it mean putting in the snow leopard cd and starting over?

Reboot does = Restart
But you can also *boot* from your SL disk so i can understand the confusion :)

Gottcha, I will try restarting and see if that fixes the problem.
