Hi

I have issues with Ruby (and by association) Rails, after numerous attempts to fix, installing from source, installing from package managers, I'm at a point where I want to WIPE the whole thing from my OS.

SO I can get the package managed stuff out but I want to know how I can reinstall the OS provided Ruby (or any other app) but I have no idea how to go about this.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I did a search, and turned up one for Ruby marked "WARNING: Dangerous Downloads"

I don't get what you mean by "OS provided Ruby", or "wipe (it) from my OS", but then I'm not familiar with it. Is there an uninstaller?

If it's a downloadable application, then it's not part of the OS, is it?

Hoping someone else can help...

I thought that Ruby on Rails came with Mac OS X. If you want to re-install Mac OS X, boot the Macintosh from the DVD that came with it and run the installer.

Was hoping that I could do just the Ruby / Rails portion of it and not the whole OS (and thus lose everything else I have installed).

I thought that Ruby on Rails came with Mac OS X. If you want to re-install Mac OS X, boot the Macintosh from the DVD that came with it and run the installer.

You don't lose everything you've installed. Mac OS X isn't like Windows. Operating system and applications aren't combined together into an inseperable mush.

I thought that Ruby on Rails came with Mac OS X.

Is that new with Snow Leopard? I sure don't have it.

Monday March 8 Post-post #8 Edit: I have Leopard. Spotlight did not find it.

I searched and it looked like it came with El Tigre...
