My Screenshot feature is messing up.

I recently tried to take a screenshot and when I opened the picture, it was messed up (For lack of knowing a technical term to use). Can anyone tell me what happened and/or how to fix it? The closest apple store to me is roughly 2 hours away from me, and I use my computer for work/school everyday so I'd rather not have to send it off.

That is beyond bizarre. I think I can safely say that you should perhaps contact Apple at least. See if they can give you any insight whatsoever. I've been using Macintoshes for twenty years and have never seen anything even remotely like that.
