iphone 3GS 32 GB - Problem

Hi,

Noticed that the phone wouldnt go to sleep so that the battery wore down. I tried turning it of and on a couple of times.

Then I synched it with my computer and I can see it, and everything on the computer but now the screen on the iphone is greyed out and I cannot turn it of.

It has never been dropped and I never loaned it to anyone that may have dropped it.

Does anyone know the problem??

by holding the sleep and home buttons at the same time, will it shut off?

Sounds like it needs to be restored via iTunes.

Its fixed. i think what you suggested is what i did, pressed the home button with the on/button for ten seconds or so (i figure that must be the sleep button you are referring to) and it reset, first with the apple logo and then after a minute it restaarted. phew.
