Can't Install OS X Tiger!

I'm running an iBook with Panther and i've just tried to install the new OS X Tiger and when it try to prepare my volume i was hit with a problem and it tried to repair it 3 times and then told me to try again later. The only thing i could pick out that my give a to why is that it stated i had (31m incorrect Threads) does this make any sence to anyone and how to i fix this?

I had a similar problem. I tried to install to my iBook using a firewire DVD drive and was shutdown the same way. I ended up installing it to a FW HD from a G4 and using disk utility to image it to the iBook. I used to use carbon copy cloner but Tiger isn't supported. They turned me to disk utility.
