Sync Problems - VERY FRUSTRATED

I have downloaded both SyncMate and Missing Sync and neither will fully install as neither recognizes my USB device.

I have:

Uninstalled one before installing the other;
Purchased the pay versions of both programs;
Done a hard reset on the phone and the mac;
Spent countless hours going through every blog, support site, etc. looking for, and performing, each "fix" and solution.

My setup:

HTC Touch Pro 2 running WM 6.5
iMac MacBook Pro running 10.6.2

HELP!

Not sure how this is a suggestion or comment about the forum. Moved to the appropriate one.
