How do I convert an AVI to VIDEO_TS?

I have an AVI file that I want to play on my TV, but my DVD player is kind of old. I've ripped stuff to VIDEO_TS which I then burn using Toast. But I can't figure out how to convert an AVI to VIDEO_TS.

Any help would be appreciated.

Since discussion of MTR is not allowed here, I'm going to give you an alternate suggestion that will actually save you a lot of time and headache (and remember, time=money!).

Buy a cheap DVD player that can play AVIs as-is. All you have to do is burn them to a (data) CD or DVD and they play. No fancy menus, but they work. Saves an INCREDIBLE amount of collective time.

Thanks for the idea, though. Think I'll do that as it will save me an INCREDIBLE amount of time.

And I see you're in BC. Congrats on the gold in hockey. I'm in NY, but I was pulling for Team Canada.
