May be getting a iMac 27'' C2D with the 4850 upgrade, and want to know what it will be like. the iMac screen res is 2560x1440. Will it play, say, crysis on med?

that card is ok but not so much for that res. it runs out of video mem. i played dragon age at full res minus the HDR effect. older games will play in native with all the bells and whistles on and the newer ones you will have to turn down this and that. also that card gets HOT

ATI's have bugs on large displays (1900 x 1200 and up) such as lag, screen flickering. Nvidia GTX's are better for games because they have less bugs, and most games were developed on computers with Nvidia's so having a Nvidia GTX (the GTX are better for gaming than other nvidia's) is better than a ATI
