WiFi issues with Macbook Pro

Just bought my first Mac (Macbook Pro 15, 2.8). It's wonderful, but while on my home wi-fi network, I keep losing connection - about once every 10 minutes or so. I get screen telling me that my network connection was lost, then it sends me to network diagnostics where I have to go through several steps, usually having to re-enter my network password. Then, I regain connection and I'm back up. I am using and AT&T 2Wire router and my connection strength is fine. Any advise? Thanks in advance.
