15" Macbook Pro Intel monitor problem

I have a Macbook Pro 15" dual 1.83ghz Intel with a bad video card. Here is a link to the image. I think the video card is shot but I'm hoping someone has a better idea.

Well, either way your GPU certainly looks like it's defective. Why don't you give Apple a call anyway? You've nothing to lose. If the nVidia problem doesn't pertain to you, they'll say so.

If you have to pay for repairs (replacing the logic board) it may get very expensive. Since the GPU is soldered (surface mounted) to the main board, it means the entire board has to be changed out.

Bad video card

Yeah, I thought It looked like the on board graphics. I will contact Apple and ask but I have a feeling I'll end up replacing the motherboard myself.
