I am trying to combine all the folders on the dock so they go into one stack but I really dont know how to do this. can someone help me?

Why would you want that?
Having that would give you slower access to the folders you have added to the dock!

You mean the Applications, Documents and Downloads aliases?
Each of those provide you with a shortcut to the data that resides within it's folder.
You would have to move all the data from the Documents and Downloads folder (for example) into the Applications folder for a single alias to provide access to it all. This would not be good from the side of being able to manage your data.

Why not just put an alias of the Documents and Downloads folders into the actual Applications folder, then make that the Stack?

Adding to that, even if the OS wouldn't get all messed up, could you imagine what that stack would look like?
