Another Newbie saying "Hi"

Joined up today so I could get up to speed faster via the forum. I just got my iMac 4 days ago. I built my first computer (Heathkit) back in 1979 and grew into PC and Windows usage over the last 30 years. But I got fed up with that whole world, especially constantly fighting off viruses, etc. So I started saving my pennies last spring.

I brought my new baby home on Sunday afternoon, and by Monday afternoon had all my files transferred, downloaded a couple of programs and was off and running. Looks like I'll be able to glean a lot of info here. And yes, this is my Mac and I love it!!!

I just got a 27" C2D iMac about 3 weeks ago after switching from PC and I am loving it.

From the OP's profile, 21.5" iMac..though the 27" is very nice too..

Welcome! I am a newbie myself. Just picked up an iMac similar to yours. I'm loving it. As the saying goes: "Once you go mac, you will never go back!"

@Bullwinkle, I, too built a Heathkit, the H-100 I believe. Good machine! I switched about a year ago and am loving it. The Mac isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than Windows boxes in many ways.
