Mail: Using own name for mail recipients

What has irritated me for quite some time now is the fact that when I get an email from one of my friends, the other recipients of that email don't always automatically use the names I have entered in Address Book with that email-address.

Is it possible to adjust the settings of Mail so that it overrides the recipients names entered by the sender of that email with the names I have stored in Address Book?

No, because the name of the sender is determined at the origin, not the recipient.

And there is no way to override this?

Ask your friends to change the name attached to the e-mail account.
