Yikes, two worlds colliding....
Yes, jud, glad to hear from you again (still on emailer-talk list with Mail, Emailer still works in Classic on this iBook). My Calendar and Address Book data, dating back from the time I first purchased Claris Emailer 1.x are now duplicated on the iBook and on Outlook at the office. I did the transfer mac --> Outlook with my Palm by a painful synchronization in both worlds. But the Outlook world is now sealed shut by the zeal of company IT
Michelangelo (Don?), if you're goal is to have all of your plugins running in Mac Outlook, I don't think that you're going to get what you want. I can ask around to the team, but it seems really unlikely.
No, no, no, no plugins. Except the .pst files which are great to use, I do not like Outlook, at all, and do not run any plugins on it. My simple goal is
1 - To recover on an ongoing basis, without telling a soul, my future differential personal calendar and agenda items from the Exchange server, back into iCal and my address book on the iBook,
and
2 - To be able to publish these data and get them in sync with my Palm Tungsten T3 or its successor (which may be an iPhone). Compared to the ease of the Palm, I can't stand the clumsy look and usage of the Blackberry as a portable machine
E-mail is not even an issue. However, since I already have company e-mail on Apple Mail (by a redirection from Exchange), I could always, should I ever need it, port this redirected e-mail on an iPhone
From what I am reading, your best bet is to keep Outlook running in a virtual machine on your Mac. Stewabr likes Parallels, I like Fusion (though honestly, I don't use my Mac that much any more). Either one is likely fine for your needs.
Yes, ranking options in increasing attractiveness, I would have
1 - Buy a 2nd-hand PC with Outlook 2003 on it and install it at home (I know I can get that to work without telling a soul)
2 - Run Outlook in a virtual machine on my mac (I believe I should also, with helpful hands, be able to get that to work without telling a soul)
3 - Run Entourage or Outlook native on my mac (that is uncertain; I will post here the non-confidential version of the Exchange settings for others to give opinion)
Besides, O2M seems like an option for bulk material transfer
Thanks, jud, glad to hear from you again
